Portugal's residence visa for retirees and people living on passive income. Official name: Visto de residência para reformados, religiosos ou pessoas que vivam de rendimentos.
How the amount is calculated
Rule: 100% of the minimum monthly wage (RMMG) for the first adult, 50% for each further adult, 30% for each child under 18 (or dependent adult child).
RMMG 2026 = €920 a month (decree no. 139/2025 of 29 December, as cited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
In force: 2026. Portugal raises the minimum wage every January.
