Statistics, not advice. The rates are official figures for all applications made in a past year, whatever the applicant's nationality: they cannot predict the decision on your application, and a lower rate does not make a country easier for you. You must apply to the Schengen country of your main destination. Not legal or immigration advice. The consulate decides, and its official page lists the documents it wants.

The consulate checks that your policy meets Article 15 of the Visa Code: at least €30,000 of cover, valid in all Schengen countries for the whole stay, including repatriation. SafetyWing's own FAQ says that many members have used its Nomad Insurance for visa applications, Schengen included, but that it cannot guarantee the policy will be accepted by every authority (SafetyWing FAQ, read on 31 October 2026). We have not checked it against any consulate's requirements: ask the consulate or its visa centre which policies and certificates it accepts before you buy any insurance.

Questions people ask

Is it hard to get a Iceland visa from the UK?

In 2025, Iceland's consulate in London did not issue 32.0% of the 15,670 applications made in the United Kingdom that it decided (rank 25 of 25 among Schengen countries with at least 1,000 applications, 1 = lowest). The average for all Schengen consulates in the United Kingdom was 10.5%. Past rates do not predict your decision: the consulate decides.

How much is the Iceland visa fee from the UK?

€90 for adults (about £75.04) and €45 for children aged 6 to 12 (about £37.52), the Schengen fee set by the EU. A visa centre, if the consulate uses one, charges its own service fee on top.

Can I apply for a Iceland visa from the UK with an Indian or Pakistani passport?

Yes, if you legally live in the United Kingdom and Iceland is your main destination. The figures on this page count all applications made in the United Kingdom, whatever the passport: the Commission's file does not give nationalities.

How much money do I need for a Iceland Schengen visa?

Iceland has notified the European Commission of these reference amounts: ISK 8,000 (≈ €58.82) a day ≈ £49.05; ISK 40,000 (≈ €294.12) for each entry ≈ £245.24. The consulate assesses your means by the length and purpose of the stay; sponsorship or private accommodation can also count.

Where do I apply for a Iceland visa from the UK?

The Commission's file lists Iceland's consulate in London. We have not read the embassy's own page on where to hand in the application, so we do not name a visa centre here: the official website of Iceland's embassy or consulate in the United Kingdom says where and how to apply, and whether a visa centre takes the application for a service fee on top of the visa fee.

How long does it take?

Normally 15 days; up to 45 days if the consulate needs to look at the application in more detail (European Commission). Appointment waiting times are extra.
