Statistics, not advice. The rates are official figures for all applications made in a past year, whatever the applicant's nationality: they cannot predict the decision on your application, and a lower rate does not make a country easier for you. Money to show for Finland

Finland has not notified a fixed daily amount: the table says “on a case-by-case basis EUR 50 In addition to the funds, or tickets, required for the departure and accommodation during the stay”. The table puts “on a case-by-case basis” and “EUR 50” side by side, with the remark that the amount comes on top of the money or tickets for departure and accommodation.

The consulate assesses your means by the length and purpose of the stay, on the basis of these reference amounts (Visa Code, Article 21(5)); proof of sponsorship or private accommodation can also count. The table quotes what Finland notified: “on a case-by-case basis EUR 50 In addition to the funds, or tickets, required for the departure and accommodation during the stay”.

The consulate checks that your policy meets Article 15 of the Visa Code: at least €30,000 of cover, valid in all Schengen countries for the whole stay, including repatriation. SafetyWing's own FAQ says that many members have used its Nomad Insurance for visa applications, Schengen included, but that it cannot guarantee the policy will be accepted by every authority (SafetyWing FAQ, read on 31 October 2026). We have not checked it against any consulate's requirements: ask the consulate or its visa centre which policies and certificates it accepts before you buy any insurance.

Normally 15 days; up to 45 days if the consulate needs to look at the application in more detail (European Commission). Appointment waiting times are extra.
